Natural Setting

In a natural rural setting, where the horses are free to interact with the client, various activities are planned to facilitate horse and human partnership between the client and horse or horses. This is done with both the human and horse on the ground.

Anyone, with or without horse experience, can benefit from Equine Assisted Learning and/or Equine Assisted Therapy. The skills developed in these sessions are transferable beyond the barn and into everyday life.

Hoofprints Ranch

Hoofprints Ranch is born of the theme that horses carry us both physically and mentally; they carry our struggles and sorrows, as well as our hopes and dreams. They assist us with hands-on learning and skill development through connection, understanding, and patience that is not always apparent with human-to-human interaction. Horses can be alongside with us through our learning and life journeys, or carry us when it becomes too difficult for us to do it on our own. Horses can bring out the best in us, allowing us to utilize our full potential and abilities in learning and in life.

The Hoofprints Ranch philosophy, One Stride at a Time, applies to learning both inside and outside of the barn. The best way to approach anything, with horses and with life, is with small steps. Horses learn quickly, and need to feel safe, secure, and put their trust in us to be at ease. Similarly, we learn best when we are relaxed and approach new things with curiosity instead of fear. Step by step, stride by stride, we move forward and build upon previous accomplishments, making progress the goal of Hoofprints Ranch for its clients.

Learning does not have time limits. We can learn until the day we die! Never stop learning, moving, trying, and going forward; progress is still progress, time and patience coupled with a safe space and natural setting provide a positive learning experience for both the human and the horse. At Hoofprints Ranch, the client and horse determine what is next. It is about you, your pace, your needs, and connecting with the horses in a meaningful way so as to achieve skills along the way.

At Hoofprints Ranch, Equine Assisted Learning and Equine Assisted Therapy (with a licensed mental health professional) are offered. Inquire at hpranch2020@gmail.com for additional information.
